Philip K. Dick wrote about scary futures and terrifying alternative pasts. In The Man in the High Castle, he imagined what would have happened if Germany and Japan had won World War II and America was under their power. Amazon adapted the novel into a series executive produced by Ridley Scott.
Ex Machina – Nov. 14
Brains, in the form of artificial intelligence, and beauty is a dangerous combination in Ex Machina. A researcher is assigned to conduct a Turing test on an AI being but he’s really the one being tested in this thriller.
Top Five – Nov. 28
A walking and talking film is not what you’d expect from Chris Rock, but it’s the movie he’s always wanted to make. In Top Five, Rock stars as an action-comedy actor who’d like to be taken seriously and opens up about himself to a New York Times profile writer.
